Poland Come And Complain

Dear friends,

Once you become an Expat you try to do your best in assimilating and understanding as much as you can of the culture you are dropped in :) Cultural Groups, Expat Groups, Photography Groups will become your best friends and you will learn tips and tricks from the locals or from expats like yourself. A page that I have bumped into by mistake/chance really got a hold of me - that was a couple or 2 months ago, but believe me when I say that this little team quite grew on me ;) The Facebook Page is named "Poland. Come And Complain." - underlining from the start that one of the Polish qualities is to constantly somplain about everything and everyone (if not the weather then politics or sports or even food!). They also have a Youtube Page for the videos they upload - not many right now, but I believe they will develop that in the future ;)
The Site was founded in July 2013 and here it is its description from FB:
"About
Poland. Come and complain. is a fanpage presenting amusingly Poland and the Polish culture. It is based on what the Poles like to do the most - complain.
Description
We’ll answer all the questions that you’ve always been afraid to ask your Polish friends. We believe that it will make you understand us a little bit better.
Like it here? Great! Come and join us! Want to do some complaining yourself? Do not hesitate, upload your picture and/or video and join the complaining mania now!
"
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey to Krakow :)
This page actually manages to put a smile on my face each time I see something new. I can relate now - after 3 whole years and something extra - to the Polish way of living and I began to understand some of its customs. And I love that this page lays it all in the open, for everyone to see, the way Polish people are and the way that they think and see things. Polish people are warm and proud and nationalistic. They believe in their country but at the same time they are sick and tired over how things run in certain aspects. Either way I still believe they are around 10 years ahead of Romania so me being here was a win situation for me. But when you look at Poland and put it agains countries like Germany or Denmark I am afraid that she will loose. And thinking of that makes me wanna complain :) I think I may be transforming into a Polish woman here ;)))

** I did this post out of love for Poland and for the Facebook Page named "Poland. Come And Complain." Thank you for bringing a smile on my face and thank you for complaining. It may not be constructive but it is fun ;) I was not rewarded in any way for this post but I believe that the team will like this and a smile from them is my pay ;)  **

Yours truly,
A LadyBug Expat In Love With Krakow :)

The LadyBug And The Friendly Moose

Dear team,

You might not remember but a while back my adorable husband brought me 2 friends to keep me company while he is not around. Some may think this is childish, some may say it is crazy, some may laugh and some may play along, but I always take them with me :) If you are following me on my Facebook page or on Tumblr you may have seen these pictures-stories but either way I wanted to have them here so you could enjoy them. They are part of a new series of photos that I will take so stay tuned for more and follow me ;)
It all started with this lovely picture taken by a dear friend of mine :) "The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot arrived safely today at the Palas Mall Complex in Iasi and rested a bit at Moo Cafe Photo taken courtesy of Claudia — at Palatul Culturii." It made me think and as the wheels started turning I figured out that The LadyBug had traveled with me for a while now but I never got to take pictures of her, so I started the series called "The LadyBug That Travels".
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug - The small LadyBug got tired so she needed to refresh herself with some lemonade and a nice meeting with friends — at Moo Café Palas.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot has an old friend dropping by for Easter - The Moose They are the official guardians of the Romanian-Iasi-Easter-Eggs and The LadyBug is very authoritative. She got to have a larger amount of eggs than The Moose but she has a kind soul so she will not eat them alone.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot - The LadyBug - and her friend - The Moose - are guarding the Easter eggs so that their friend Piscot - Craker - would not steal any until morrow night — with Catelul Piscot and The Cute Moose in Iasi, Romania.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot had a walk under the moon and reached the Union Square in Iasi, Romania. You can see in the background the beautiful Hotel Traian. Back in 1882, Gustave Eiffel, the "master of engineering", was finishing the last details of an architectural masterpiece. Not in Paris or Vienna, nor Saigon or the United States, but here in Iasi, on Romanian land, one of centers that gathered the knowledge and forces of the whole country. Two years before Gustave Eiffel became famous for the Statue of Liberty, the American symbol, and seven years before erecting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the master from Cote d’Or gave birth to a neoclassical masterpiece here in Iasi, Unirii Square: TRAÍAN Grand Hotel — at Grand Hotel Traian.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot reached Piata Unirii and had a look at the 2 main Hotels in Iasi: Hotel Traian and Hotel Unirea. Here you can see in the background Hotel Unirea where you can reach its 13th floor and have a lovely meal at the restaurant that has a 360 degrees birds-eye-view over Iasi Totally worth a shot! — at Hotel UNIREA Iasi (Romania).
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot still has free space in her tummy for a special Creme Brulee with sour cherries. Om nom nom! — at Mignon Café.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot along with its friend - The Moose - had a short break today at lovely and kitten friendly Acaju. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for them, as they are fluffy) there was no kitty around... we did spot 2 though when we left the premises P.S. In case you have not noticed, the bag is made by Tolpi and it is made 100% out of leather I received it as a gift and fell in love with it at first sight... — at Acaju.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot - The LadyBug - and her friend - The Friendly Moose - dropped by Corso, one of the oldest pubs that The LadyBug remembers from her Highschool time Some Nutella pancakes were in order - not the best ones we have tasted but they were sweet and the lemonade have very fresh and tasty mint — at Terasa Corso.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot and her friend - The Moose - took turns into drinking some fresh lemonade — at Terasa Corso.
The Home Of The Twisted Red Ladybug mascot and its faithful friend - The Moose - went out with some friends for a grill and ended up eating cucumbers with fresh green onion. Yum yum!
***
But fear not! If you will check on Facebook page or on Tumblr you will see more and you can check in from time to time to see where they have been to and what they are doing. The LadyBug and The Friendly Moose are very good friends so their stories do not stop here ;) Now have yourself a very lovely 1st of May and dont forget to be a child from time to time. It keeps you young ;)

Yours truly,
The LadyBug and The Moose :)

An Unexpected And Very Pleasant Surprize

Dear friends,

Hobbies are a way to develop certain parts of our brain and make is feel happy when we perform them. When we enjoy doing something in our leisure time and we are not getting payed for it, and we do it just for fun, well... that, my friends, is a hobby! You enjoy doing this whenever you do it and it gives you somehow a feeling of growth or fulfillment. You do it voluntarly and you do it for pleasure. For me it includes taking photos, traveling and having this blog :)
My husband on the other side, has different hobbies and one of them is collecting postcards. He started this almost 2 years ago and now he has quite a wide collection, from most of the continents ;) He doesnt have Australia yet but hopefully one day we will have that one as well... or maybe we will just travel there and buy a postcard ourselves :)
This particular postcard came this weekend and it made me smile wide and remember times during my Master Degree. I finished my Master in Marketing and Business Communications in 2010. Oh, how I loved it! I loved every project that made me think and twist and turn my brain in endless possibilities... I miss studies until this day :) and I am happy I chose this subject as it was a pleasure to learn about it.
As you may know, projects though are done sometimes alone and sometimes in groups. Well I had the most perfect team and we both had fun and work hard when we had to. My team was formed out of Radu, Mihai and me :) Radu is the most amazing driver I have seen. Only he could work out a Dacia (Romanian car) like he did. The way he twisted and twirled around the curves in the road makes me wonder until this day!
Mihai, on the other hand, was the potentially quiet one of the group. Both me and Mihai were in AIESEC and I must say this kid knew how to talk and present himself. The combination of the 3 of us was always a wonder :)
We used to go to the Library in order to do the project but always we would deviate from the subject and end up laughing so hard that we were always on the point of being thrown out for disturbance. Now all 3 of us separately would behave, but when put together it was always great fun :)
A while ago I asked Mihai, when in Bruxelles, to send me a postcard for my husband as we had none from there. I always say that to my friends who travel and some do and some dont or just drop by and give us the postcard in person :) Well this weekend I had a lovely surprise waiting for me in the mail.
It was an envelope from Belgium and inside the envelope there was a postcard with a sticker from Mihai, saying hello from Belgium. He managed to put a wide smile on my face and made me remember the fun times we had during our Master Degree. Mihai, this post is dedicated to you! And when I will get to see you/meet you live, I shall hug your very strong :)
We both loved the postcard very much and my husband already added it to the collection. You made us both smile wide Mihai :) Come visit us when you can!
How about you, lovely people? I know it is Monday but let us think of pleasant things. What is your hobby? What do you love doing in your free time? Do you collect anything? How old is your collection and how big? What made you start it? I would love to hear your stories as well :)

Have a very lovely Monday!

Yours truly,
The Twisted Red LadyBug
